WOW, I can’t believe you made it this far… I guess I gotta tell my AT&T story now…
Ok so when I moved into my apartment, I ordered internet from them for 50 dollars a month. They asked if I wanted to install it, I said, “sure, I can do that.” Then they were all like, “Installation is free, so just let us do it.” So I let them do it…
When my first bill comes, they charge me 180 dollars for the first month. I call and I’m like BRUHHHH explain this!!!!! They tell me, “Well there’s a 100 dollar installation fee and then your monthly service is 80 dollars a month.” I TELL THEM, (in an extremely calm manner) “My contract says 50 dollars a month and you told me installation was free” AND I PROVIDED THEM WITH EMAIL PROOF THAT THAT WAS TRUE.
They apologize and tell me they will fix it, send me a refund receipt and everything.
MONTHS GO BY AND WHEN I’M WORKING ON AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT PROJECT FOR WORK THEY SHUT OFF MY INTERNET. I CALL AND ASK WHY… THEY TELL ME I HAVE 350 DOLLARS OF OUTSTANDING CHARGES.
Ok I need to calm down….
Anyway…
Turns out, they didn’t actually refund my wrongful charges, they just set up a new account and charged me twice monthly, FOR INTERNET FOR TWO HOUSES AT THE SAME ADDRESS AND DIDN’T REFUND THE ORIGINAL CHARGES.
Long story short, I spend over 10 hours fighting with poor AT&T customer service representatives and I was forced to pay the 350 or have my credit score get destroyed…
